About Puerto Pollensa

Puerto Pollensa is situated in the north west of the island of Mallorca, approximately 55 km from the capital, Palma, with transfer time from the airport around 40 minutes by car or taxi.

A charming destination, Puerto Pollensa is the perfect location for a quiet and relaxing family holiday, both in or out of season. The strikingly picturesque Bay of Pollensa is home to a popular marina and wide sandy beaches providing safe bathing.

All the usual beach activities are also on offer, including sailing, water-skiing, wind surfing, para-gliding and kite surfing. Puerto Pollensa is an ideal base for exploring, with easy access to magnificent countryside and the western mountain ranges where you will find the spectacular gorge at La Calobra, the busy town and port of Soller and the enigmatic hillside village of Deià, made famous by English poet Robert Graves, who lived there from 1929 to 1985.

Deiá is now a second home to many international celebrities, including some of Hollywood’s elite.

The beautiful Bay of Pollensa with its popular marina and wide sandy beach provides safe bathing and all the usual beach activities, including sailing, water-skiing, wind-surfing, pedalos and glass-bottom boat rides. Puerto Pollensa also provides easy access to magnificent countryside and the western mountain ranges where you will find the spectacular gorge at La Calobra, the town and port of Soller and Deiá, the latter made famous by the English poet Robert Graves, now home to some of the rich and famous.

For the bird and butterfly watchers, the Albufera Natural Park is just 15 minutes away and for the golfers, apart from the 9 hole course at nearby Pollensa, there is a brand new 18 hole course at Alcanada, also just a 15 minute drive away. There are 4 more excellent uncrowded courses (Canyamel, Capdepera, Pula and Son Severa) on the north-east coast all under an hour's drive and 36 holes at Son Antem, the new Marriott resort near Llucmayor.

Puerto Pollensa, with its splendid marina, is perhaps less lively than most other resorts in Mallorca, although hotels, restaurants and bars can provide plenty of entertainment. It benefits from a wealth of excellent restaurants offering all kinds of Mediterranean cuisine and tapas (a must to try) and other typical Spanish/Mallorcan dishes to Italian, Chinese  and Thai. Little Italy, La Roca, Celler La Parra, Stay and Ca'n Cuarassa restaurants are excellent choices.

The Old Town of Pollensa is only a 5 minute drive away, where, from the main square, you can explore El Calvario. This is a set of 365 steps - one for each day of the year - leading up to a hermitage and church with a life-sized image of the Virgin that dates from the XIII century. Climbers are rewarded with a fine view of the town, bay and surrounding countryside.
