Our mission for this latest addition to the Squadron range was to create the true class leader in terms of spaciousness, relative to yachts of similar length. The Squadron 50 has achieved this ambition with the help of two particular features - the ‘full length’ hull design and our unique Tender Launch System. These innovations have made more internal space available for our designers and the result is a level of luxury accommodation and cruising practicality unmatched by any competitor.
Pioneering design is in evidence throughout this powerful express cruiser, which is superbly equipped, contemporary in style and remarkably light and spacious. For many this hard top is one of the most eagerly awaited Fairlines to date. Specify the D6-400 Volvo engines and you will also have the fastest Fairline built to date. Even fully loaded it can easily push into the mid-40 knot range.
Demand for a hard top version was too great for us not to take it seriously. But we had to get it right. We worked with Makefast to acquire a tried and tested roof and electrical system. Reliable, easy to use and neat. The Targa 38GT offers the largest roof opening area for a boat of this size and a long overhang over the cockpit to offer maximum protection. We also extended the glazing to give greater all-round vision and further enhance the feeling of an express cruiser that’s open to the world around it.
Living space
There’s ample accommodation for a large group of day-trippers and it sleeps up to 7 with ease. Below, the large forward cabin enjoys natural light from the twin portholes and deck hatch and the guest cabin defies the norm with generous headspace above its twin berths. Seemingly impossible on a boat this size, an optional sofa bed converts into a third berth.
Our designers have really focused on blurring one living space into the next, making each area feel a lot bigger. To compliment this, softer, brighter materials have been used, finished with detail piping and hand stitching to create a luxurious environment.
