Welcome to the 2018 British GT Championship

Season calendar

For 25 years the British GT Championship has been at the heart of motorsport in the UK and has established itself as the world’s foremost domestic GT series. Over 161 million households worldwide tune in to watch the action and with glamorous supercars from Aston Martin, Bentley, Lamborghini, McLaren and Mercedes AMG racing at breath-taking speeds, bumper-to-bumper with ground-shaking noise and all the drama of pit stops and driver changeovers, it was clear that this was a spectacular experience we wanted to be a part of.

This season, we’re partnering 2017 champion Rick Parfitt and his #1 Bentley as he fights to retain his title in this highly competitive racing series. Our high-profile sponsorship offers a great opportunity for our clients to join us and be part of the action with ‘backstage’ access to the team, drivers and hospitality at each of the high-octane events.

Last year was an incredible year for Rick and we’re excited to be supporting him throughout the coming season.

About Rick

Rick, 43, is a British racing car driver and rock musician. Winner of multiple national and international karting titles in his youth including the Le Mans 24 Du Karting and Dubai 24hr. His band plays all over the world and has rocked alongside legends such as Eric Clapton, Robert Plant, Bryan Ferry and Status Quo to name a few.

Switching from karts to cars in 2011 Rick graduated to the British GT4 in 2013 where he won the class in his debut year.

In a relatively short car racing career, Rick has achieved many accolades including over 20 podium finishes so far. In 2014 he was voted “Mobil 1 Master of the Year” and in 2016 was the Bentley “AM Driver of the Year” finishing the championship 3rd overall. Winning the British GT series last year, Rick became the first driver in history to win both GT4 and GT3 titles.

The recognition kept on coming for Rick last season when the revered British Racing Drivers Club awarded him prestigious John Cobb Trophy for his success behind the wheel of a British racing car.

About Ryan

Ryan Ratcliffe is Rick’s teammate. Hailing from Llanelli in Wales, 24 year old Ryan has been racing since 2009 with a string of impressive wins under his belt. Ryan’s achievements so far include: Cadwell Park lap record holder in a Ginetta G40, the youngest driver to start the Britcar 24hr, 100% podium finishes in the Britcar Endurance Series, 2013 British GT4 Champion and 2013/14 Porsche Carrera Cup GB Scholarship Finalist.

As teammates, Ryan and Rick already have a proven track record having driven to the British GT4 Championship title together in 2013 – confidence is high for the coming season.

The Team

The #1 Bentley is run by Team Parker Racing. A hugely successful and well-established UK racing outfit that 20 years ago was running some of the fastest Caterham 7 drivers the UK had ever seen.

From those early days, the Parker brothers, Stewart and Andy, were used to winning and in 2018 the team competes at the front in a number of prestigious racing series.

Two of the most competitive cars in the British GT Championship, the Bentley GT3’s are prepared and maintained by TPR. In Europe, the team run another brace of Bentley GT3’s in the Blancpain Endurance Series. They are responsible for a total of four Porsche Carrera Cup cars fighting for honours in this year’s Porsche Carrera Cup GB series and in the rough and tumble of the British Touring Car Championship, they are in the thick of it with a 1-Series BMW.
